State vs Umar Khalid — February 2020 North-East Delhi Riots Case

Umar Khalid is accused of orchestrating a larger conspiracy behind the February 2020 north-east Delhi riots and has been in Tihar Jail since his arrest. After a trial court dismissed his fresh bail plea on 4 July 2026, he filed a third bail application in the Delhi High Court. As of 30 September 2026, the Delhi High Court scheduled a hearing to consider his and Sharjeel Imam's bail applications.

State vs Sachin Vaze — Ambani residence explosives case

Former police officer Sachin Vaze was arrested on 14 March 2021 for allegedly planting explosives outside the Mumbai residence of Mukesh Ambani. Following hearings regarding his bail application and challenges to the invocation of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, the Bombay High Court reserved its order on 16 October 2026.

National Investigation Agency vs E Abubacker and others — PFI UAPA case

Former PFI chairman E Abubacker is facing charges under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. He has filed multiple bail pleas and requests for transfer to private hospitals for medical treatment, which have been contested by the prosecution and addressed by the Delhi High Court and Supreme Court.

State vs 10 Accused — Red Fort Blast Case

The NIA has filed a 7,500-page chargesheet against 13 individuals regarding the November 2025 Red Fort vehicle-borne improvised explosive device blast. A Delhi court took cognisance of the chargesheet on 29 August 2026, which alleges a conspiracy called Operation Heavenly Hind aimed at overthrowing the government using AI tools, encrypted messaging, and manuals linked to AQAP. The Delhi High Court denied default bail to accused Jasir Bilal Wani on 3 September 2026.

State vs Sobiya Aziz, Kamran Ashraf Reshi and others — Jammu and Kashmir wide-ranging terror conspiracy case

This Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act case involves an alleged terror conspiracy by banned outfits in Jammu and Kashmir. Following five years in custody, Sobiya Aziz and Kamran Ashraf Reshi were granted bail by the Delhi High Court on 3 September 2026, as the court noted that the trial is unlikely to conclude in the near future.

State vs accused — Sedition and UAPA charges trial continuation post-Supreme Court stay

The Madhya Pradesh High Court held that the Supreme Court's direction to keep sedition charges in abeyance does not prevent continuation of trial on other offences under IPC and UAPA. The case involves investigation and chargesheet completion, with attempts to provoke triggering the FIR.
