Punjab Police inspector Gurinderjit Singh Nagra was arrested on 17 July 2026 for alleged involvement in an extortion case linked to these investigations. As of 08 August 2026, the Indian government confirmed it had received no formal extradition request from the United States regarding Nagra.

State vs Venkat Garg — Extortion and murder cases

Gangster Venkat Garg was extradited from Georgia to India on 11 June 2026 to face multiple criminal charges, including murder and extortion, across Haryana and Delhi. He was taken into custody by the Haryana Special Task Force on 12 June 2026. On 28 July 2026, the Punjab and Haryana High Court directed the state to ensure his security during court appearances.

State vs Subhash Singh Thakur — Virar builder contract killing

Gangster Subhash Singh Thakur, already serving a life term for the 1993 JJ Hospital killings, is accused of coordinating a 2022 contract killing of a Virar builder. Police allege he accepted a 50-lakh rupee contract and used encrypted applications to manage the crime from Uttar Pradesh's Fatehgarh Central Jail. As of 16 December 2025, he was remanded to seven days of police custody in connection with the murder case.

State vs Sushil Kumar — Sagar Rana murder case

Olympic wrestler Sushil Kumar is accused of the murder of Sagar Dhankar at Chhatrasal Stadium. A Delhi court officially framed charges of murder and other offences against him and 17 co-accused on 13 October 2022. The Delhi High Court granted bail to Sushil Kumar on 4 March 2025.

State vs Mohan Nayak N — Gauri Lankesh murder case

Mohan Nayak N, an accused in the 2017 murder of journalist Gauri Lankesh, faces charges under the Karnataka Control of Organised Crimes Act after the Supreme Court restored them in October 2021. As reported on 8 December 2023, the Karnataka High Court granted him regular bail, and the Supreme Court dismissed a petition challenging this release on 21 August 2024.

State vs Ravi Pujari

Alleged underworld don Ravi Pujari was extradited from Senegal to India in 2020 to face over 100 cases, including murder and extortion.
