Former Trinamool Congress councillor Debraj Chakraborty was arrested and faced 10 additional extortion cases and land-grab complaints within 24 hours of arrest. He and his wife, former TMC legislator and singer Aditi Munshi, have been booked in multiple cases including extortion, money laundering, criminal intimidation, and asset disproportionate to income. Both CBI and Enforcement Directorate are investigating various charges.

A US-led international crackdown on the Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate resulted in 24 arrests across the US, Canada, and Europe. The gang, which operates under Anmol Bishnoi (arrested in the US in 2024) and Goldy Brar while Lawrence Bishnoi is imprisoned in Gujarat, is accused of carrying out several high-profile murders including former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique and Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moosewala.

An IPS officer was arrested in connection with a fake drug bribery scheme involving Rs 3 crore. The officer allegedly sought money to 'fix' a CBI case related to a counterfeit medicine racket. Several politicians were also found to be involved in the investigation.
