Goa nightclub fire NOC forgery case

The Mapusa JMFC court granted regular bail to Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra on 12 October 2026 in the case regarding the alleged forgery of a No Objection Certificate for the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub. The Bombay High Court concurrently directed the brothers to pay interim compensation of ₹ 20 lakh each to the families of the victims. Despite the bail order, the brothers continued to be held in judicial custody as of 12 October 2026 due to other pending proceedings.

Goa Nightclub Fire Case — Deaths of 25 persons, bail cancellation

Following a fire at the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub in Goa that killed 25 people, the Supreme Court upheld the cancellation of bail for owners Saurabh Luthra, Gaurav Luthra, and Ajay Gupta on 2 September 2026. The accused surrendered on 14 September 2026 and were remanded to judicial custody. As of 12 October 2026, the Bombay High Court has ordered each owner to deposit Rs 20 lakh as interim compensation for the victims' families while the trial continues.
