State vs five persons — CJP activist's father death case

Following the death of a CJP activist's father after an alleged assault during a school audit in Bankura, West Bengal, an FIR was lodged against five individuals for murder and other charges on 15 August 2026. Police arrested eight people in connection with the incident on 31 August 2026. As of 23 October 2026, the state Crime Branch has assumed responsibility for the investigation from local police, with three activists scheduled to appear before the Special Executive Magistrate court.
