State vs five persons — CJP activist's father death case

A junior doctor at R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata was raped and murdered on 9 August 2024. The case sparked nationwide outrage and protests. A man was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment; a fresh FIR and multi-agency probe involving CBI have been initiated into additional aspects of the case.

Following a dispute over a seat on a Delhi Metro train that resulted in the death of a man named Pawan Sharma, police have arrested former IAS officer Sanjay Pratap Singh and his son, lawyer Siddharth Singh. The incident reportedly involved a physical altercation between the accused and the victim.

Siya Goyal stands accused of murdering her fiancé, 26-year-old Ketan Agarwal, along with her associate Chetan Chaudhary. The death occurred on June 18, 2026, when Agarwal fell into a 350-feet deep valley at Lohagad Fort near Lonavla during a trek. The case was initially registered as an accidental fall but was converted to a murder case five days later following a complaint by the deceased's father.
