State vs Natasha Narwal — 2020 Delhi riots conspiracy case

Activist Natasha Narwal is an accused in the 2020 Delhi riots conspiracy case, which is currently at the stage of framing charges as of 21 May 2026. On 17 October 2026, the Delhi High Court granted her permission to travel to the United Kingdom for an academic conference, ruling that serious UAPA charges do not constitute a blanket ban on the fundamental right to travel abroad. The court conditioned this permission on her returning to India and surrendering her passport upon return.

State vs Umar Khalid — February 2020 North-East Delhi Riots Case

Umar Khalid is accused of orchestrating a larger conspiracy behind the February 2020 north-east Delhi riots and has been in Tihar Jail since his arrest. After a trial court dismissed his fresh bail plea on 4 July 2026, he filed a third bail application in the Delhi High Court. As of 30 September 2026, the Delhi High Court scheduled a hearing to consider his and Sharjeel Imam's bail applications.

State vs 10 Accused — Red Fort Blast Case

The NIA has filed a 7,500-page chargesheet against 13 individuals regarding the November 2025 Red Fort vehicle-borne improvised explosive device blast. A Delhi court took cognisance of the chargesheet on 29 August 2026, which alleges a conspiracy called Operation Heavenly Hind aimed at overthrowing the government using AI tools, encrypted messaging, and manuals linked to AQAP. The Delhi High Court denied default bail to accused Jasir Bilal Wani on 3 September 2026.

State (CBI/ED) vs Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia & Others — Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22 Corruption and Money Laundering Case

On 27 February 2026, the Rouse Avenue Special Court discharged all 23 accused, including Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, from the CBI corruption case regarding the Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22. The CBI challenged this discharge in the Delhi High Court, where Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia filed opposition pleadings as reported on 13 August 2026. Separately, the Delhi High Court initiated criminal contempt proceedings against several AAP leaders in connection with these legal developments on 14 May 2026.

State v. Christian Michel James & Ors — AgustaWestland VVIP Helicopter Procurement Scam

The CBI and ED are prosecuting Christian Michel James, S.P. Tyagi, and others for alleged corruption in the 2013 AgustaWestland VVIP helicopter procurement scam. Although granted bail in the CBI case on 18 February 2025 and the ED case on 4 March 2025, Michel has not met the bail conditions and continues to be held in custody. As of 24 July 2026, the Supreme Court is considering his plea challenging his detention and provisions of the India-UAE extradition treaty.
