State vs Hafiz Saeed — Pahalgam terror attack case

The Madhya Pradesh High Court held that the Supreme Court's direction to keep sedition charges in abeyance does not prevent continuation of trial on other offences under IPC and UAPA. The case involves investigation and chargesheet completion, with attempts to provoke triggering the FIR.

A UAPA case alleging a wide-ranging terror conspiracy involving banned outfits in Jammu and Kashmir. Sobiya Aziz and Kamran Ashraf Reshi were accused who spent nearly 5 years in custody and were granted bail by the Delhi High Court.

A special NIA court issued an arrest warrant against Yaqoob, a designated UAPA terrorist and close aide of Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed, in connection with a terror conspiracy case. Yaqoob was allegedly assigned the task of carrying out attacks on security forces and civilians in Kashmir.
