In re: Execution of 24-year-old arbitral award

The Madhya Pradesh High Court dismissed an execution petition in the case of Ashok Kumar v. Bhupendra Kumar Lunkad regarding a 24-year-old arbitral award. Justice Vinay Saraf ruled on 23 October 2026 that the 12-year limitation period under Article 136 of the Limitation Act commenced when the award became enforceable on 7 January 2002 and expired on 7 January 2014.
