Enforcement Directorate vs. MAWS Department officials

The Enforcement Directorate is investigating allegations of systemic corruption, recruitment irregularities, and fund diversion involving contract manipulation within the Tamil Nadu Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department. Following an Enforcement Directorate report submitted in December 2025, the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption booked former minister K.N. Nehru and 12 others for alleged tender irregularities on 11 September 2026. The investigation into the alleged Rs 1,020 crore bribery scheme remains active as of 11 September 2026.

CBI vs Jayanthi Natarajan

The Central Bureau of Investigation registered a corruption case against former Union Environment Minister Jayanthi Natarajan for allegedly granting illegal mining clearance for forest land in 2012. Following raids on her residence, the agency filed a closure report in the case as reported on 01 December 2023.
