State vs Harcharan Bhullar and Krishanu Sharda — CBI corruption case

Suspended Punjab DIG Harcharan Bhullar and his aide Krishanu Sharda are facing a CBI trial for an alleged bribery scheme involving a 5 lakh rupee transaction. Following the framing of charges on 10 July 2026 and the commencement of witness examinations on 12 August 2026, the trial proceedings have been intermittently delayed. On 9 October 2026, Bhullar was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in a separate money laundering investigation and was granted 8-day custody by a court on 10 October 2026.

State vs Bhullar — Graft Case

Suspended DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar and co-accused Krishanu Sharda are facing trial in a CBI court for alleged corruption. Following the dismissal of his challenge to the prosecution sanction on 07 June 2026, the court commenced the examination of witnesses, during which the complainant identified the accused and relevant audio evidence in late September 2026. The Supreme Court deferred Bhullar's bail plea on 15 September 2026 pending the testimony of key witnesses.
