CBI vs Sushanta Mallick — Corruption case

The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a corruption case against Sushanta Mallick, a former staffer of the then Minister of State for Heavy Industries Babul Supriyo. Mallick is accused of criminal conspiracy and accepting bribes, including a reported payment of ₹5 lakh, to facilitate the allotment of tenders and influence professional matters. The case remains under investigation as of 9 May 2022.

CBI vs Dr. Dibyendu Mazumdar and others

The CBI registered an FIR against Dr. Dibyendu Mazumdar, Dinesh Prasad Singh, and Firoz Ahmad, alleging they engaged in corruption by granting permission to increase dental college seats in exchange for favors. State vs Sushanta Dattagupta — Visva-Bharati University corruption case

Following his dismissal by the President on 16 February 2016 over financial irregularities, former Visva-Bharati University Vice-Chancellor Sushanta Dattagupta faced a corruption case registered by the CBI on 25 May 2016. On 23 September 2020, the CBI formally registered an FIR against him regarding these allegations. The matter is under investigation as of 23 September 2020.

CBI vs Rakesh Asthana

The Central Bureau of Investigation registered a corruption case in October 2018 against its former special director Rakesh Asthana, alleging he accepted a bribe from a businessman. In February 2020, the agency granted him a clean chit in the matter. As reported on 19 February 2020, the court continues to raise questions regarding the investigation, specifically concerning the decision not to subject Asthana to a lie detector test.

State vs Y Bhaskar Rao and others — Karnataka Lokayukta corruption case

Former Karnataka Lokayukta Y Bhaskar Rao faces allegations of abetting illegal gratification, concealing evidence, and corruption related to an extortion racket within the anti-corruption ombudsman's office. Following his resignation on 08 December 2015, the Special Investigation Team filed a chargesheet naming him as the seventh accused on 04 August 2016.
