West Bengal Police vs CBI Officers (Bogtui custodial death case)

West Bengal police registered a case against seven CBI officers, including a DIG and an SP, regarding the custodial death of Lalan Sheikh, the prime accused in the Bogtui violence. CBI vs Trinamool Congress leaders (Narada sting case)

The CBI is investigating Trinamool Congress leaders allegedly captured on camera accepting bribes during the Narada sting operation. Following the arrest of four prominent leaders on 17 May 2021, the Calcutta High Court granted them interim bail on 28 May 2021. As reported on 30 June 2021, the court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on Mamata Banerjee regarding a related plea.

In re: Contempt proceedings against Justice C.S. Karnan

The Supreme Court of India initiated contempt proceedings against sitting High Court judge C.S. Karnan regarding allegations of judicial and administrative contempt. On 9 May 2017, the court found him guilty and sentenced him to six months in prison. This conviction and the sentence were formally affirmed in a final judgment as reported on 23 August 2017.
