State vs Two Teachers — Sexual assault of 5-year-old child in Meghalaya

Two teachers were arrested on 25 February 2026 for the alleged sexual assault of a five-year-old student at a school in Shillong. A charge sheet was filed on 24 April 2026 under the POCSO Act. The Meghalaya High Court denied bail to both accused individuals as reported on 3 September 2026.
