State vs Stepmother and others — Kovalam spa minor girl sexual abuse case

A 16-year-old girl from Andhra Pradesh was allegedly trafficked and sexually abused at spas in Kovalam, Bengaluru, and Tamil Nadu. Following the arrest and remand of several individuals, including the victim's maternal aunt and a Thiruvananthapuram Corporation Health Inspector, the Kerala High Court permitted the medical termination of the survivor's pregnancy on 23 October 2026. Investigators have expanded the probe into Tamil Nadu and are currently searching for a woman acting as a mediator in the trafficking network as of 27 October 2026.
