CBI vs Chanda Kochhar, Deepak Kochhar and Venugopal Dhoot — ICICI Bank-Videocon loan fraud case

The Central Bureau of Investigation is investigating allegations of a multi-crore loan fraud involving former ICICI Bank MD Chanda Kochhar, her husband Deepak Kochhar, and Videocon Group owner Venugopal Dhoot. The Bombay High Court ruled on 6 February 2024 that the CBI arrests of the Kochhars were illegal and confirmed their interim bail, while also staying the Enforcement Directorate's proceedings to attach Deepak Kochhar’s assets as reported on 13 May 2026.

CBI vs Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy

The CBI is investigating NDTV co-founders Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy for an alleged Rs 48 crore loss caused to ICICI Bank in 2008. On 20 March 2026, the Delhi High Court quashed the Look Out Circulars issued against the couple in connection with the investigation, mandating that they continue to cooperate with the ongoing CBI probe.

CBI vs Gautam Thapar and others — Avantha Group fraud case

The Central Bureau of Investigation is investigating Avantha Group founder Gautam Thapar and others for allegedly cheating Yes Bank of Rs 466 crore between 2017 and 2019. In a related development, the Delhi High Court dismissed Thapar's plea challenging his arrest as reported on 29 September 2021. Subsequently, the Enforcement Directorate attached Rs 678 crore worth of assets linked to the group and associated entities as reported on 16 August 2024.
