The Enforcement Directorate is investigating former Punjab Police DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar for alleged money laundering and corruption. Following the freezing of 1.4 crore rupees in April 2026 and the arrest of alleged middleman Krishanu Sharda on 21 September 2026, a court granted the agency 8-day custody of Bhullar on 09 October 2026.

On 27 February 2026, the Rouse Avenue Special Court discharged all 23 accused, including Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, from the CBI corruption case regarding the Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22. The CBI challenged this discharge in the Delhi High Court, where Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia filed opposition pleadings as reported on 13 August 2026. Prakash Industries Limited (PIL) is accused of obtaining Chotia and Fatehpur coal block allocations through fraud and misrepresentation in applications. The case involves allegations of submitting false documents to the Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction, generating proceeds of crime through coal extraction and sale, and money laundering via share price manipulation and property acquisition. The Supreme Court cancelled the allocations in 2014.
