State vs woman accused and juvenile — Chandigarh sextortion case

A woman and a juvenile accomplice are accused of a sextortion conspiracy involving the blackmail of a 73-year-old Hisar-based eye doctor. On 21 December 2024, the Punjab and Haryana High Court ordered the juvenile to be tried as an adult. As reported on 6 February 2025, the High Court denied bail to the woman, noting that she allegedly extorted over Rs 1.34 crore from the victim through persistent blackmail and threats.
