Petitioner vs State of Himachal Pradesh and Another — Maternity benefit compensation case

A female employee challenged her termination from service, which occurred after she applied for maternity benefits. While a 2024 order previously directed payment of compensation for wrongful termination, the Himachal Pradesh High Court subsequently stayed the termination of the employee, who is a scientist, on 12 October 2026. The court has directed the authorities to permit her to continue in her service pending further hearings.
