In re: Unauthorised construction near Raushanara Tomb

The Delhi High Court is hearing a matter concerning unauthorised construction activities occurring near the protected Raushanara Tomb monument. The Court has directed the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), and the Delhi Police to submit affidavits and identify specific officials responsible for the failure to prevent the encroachment.

State vs Building Owner — Satya Niketan building collapse case

A five-storey residential building collapsed in Satya Niketan on 6 September 2026, resulting in seven deaths and an investigation into illegal construction and culpable homicide. The building owner and his wife were remanded to judicial custody on 8 September 2026, while the owner's son, the building contractor, and an absconding PG operator who surrendered on 11 September 2026 were placed in police custody as of 12 September 2026. The Delhi High Court is monitoring the case under the direction of the Supreme Court.
