State vs Padamsinh Patil and others — Pawanraje Nimbalkar murder case

On 20 June 2026, a special CBI court in Mumbai acquitted former Maharashtra minister Padamsinh Patil and seven co-accused in the 2006 murder case of Congress leader Pawanraje Nimbalkar and his driver due to insufficient evidence. Following this acquittal, both the CBI and the victim's family filed separate appeals in the Bombay High Court as of 13 October 2026 to challenge the verdict.

State (CBI/ED) vs Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia & Others — Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22 Corruption and Money Laundering Case

On 27 February 2026, the Rouse Avenue Special Court discharged all 23 accused, including Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, from the CBI corruption case regarding the Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22. The CBI challenged this discharge in the Delhi High Court, where Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia filed opposition pleadings as reported on 13 August 2026. Separately, the Delhi High Court initiated criminal contempt proceedings against several AAP leaders in connection with these legal developments on 14 May 2026.
