CBI investigation into corruption allegations against OSD to Punjab CM

The CBI is investigating corruption and 'cash-for-transfers' allegations against Rajbir Singh Ghuman, the OSD to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, while the Enforcement Directorate conducts a parallel money laundering probe. The Special Court in Bengaluru has ordered a Superintendent of Police probe into allegations that former legislator Preetham Gowda acquired assets beyond his known sources of income. Following this, the High Court directed the Superintendent of Police to file a First Information Report as of 21 August 2026. State vs IAS Officer Patel — Money Laundering and Bribery Case

A suspended 2015-batch IAS officer who served as Surendranagar Collector is accused of heading an organised bribery network involving money laundering. The Gujarat High Court denied bail to the officer on 29 June 2026, observing that the accused failed to meet the conditions for release under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. The case remains under investigation by the Enforcement Directorate as of 01 July 2026.

CBI vs Chanda Kochhar, Deepak Kochhar and Venugopal Dhoot — ICICI Bank-Videocon loan fraud case

The Central Bureau of Investigation is investigating allegations of a multi-crore loan fraud involving former ICICI Bank MD Chanda Kochhar, her husband Deepak Kochhar, and Videocon Group owner Venugopal Dhoot. The Bombay High Court ruled on 6 February 2024 that the CBI arrests of the Kochhars were illegal and confirmed their interim bail, while also staying the Enforcement Directorate's proceedings to attach Deepak Kochhar’s assets as reported on 13 May 2026.
