In re: Maternity benefits for contractual employees

The Rajasthan High Court held on 22 October 2026 that female contractual employees are entitled to maternity benefits regardless of their employment status. Following this judgment, the court directed the reinstatement of 12 terminated contractual employees on 24 October 2026 and ordered payment of 180 days of maternity benefits to a contractual consultant on 26 October 2026.
