State vs. Six accused — 2012 Delhi bus gang-rape and murder case (Nirbhaya)

Former AAP councillor Tahir Hussain and four others were convicted in the murder of Intelligence Bureau officer Ankit Sharma during the February 2020 Delhi communal violence. Police alleged Hussain's residence functioned as an operational base for rioters, with recovery of stones, petrol bomb materials, acid packets and other items. A chargesheet was filed on June 3, 2020.

An 11-year-old girl living with her family on a footpath at CDR Chowk in Mehrauli, Delhi was allegedly abducted around 5 a.m. while sleeping. The girl was raped and killed by a cab driver, Bashu Kumar Singh. Police arrested the accused following technical surveillance and CCTV analysis; during interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to abducting, sexually assaulting, and strangling the minor.

Actor Darshan and multiple co-accused are charged in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy. Darshan was arrested on June 11, 2024. The Karnataka High Court granted bail to Darshan and co-accused on December 13, 2024, which the State of Karnataka appealed to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court reserved judgment on the State's appeal on July 24, 2025.

A 20-year-old murder case involving the death of Pawanraje Nimbalkar, an ex-Congress leader. The CBI filed a chargesheet in 2009 naming former Union minister and NCP heavyweight Padamsinh Patil as the prime accused and alleged conspirator, claiming a conspiracy due to apprehensions about political career damage and anger over corruption allegations. Eight accused, including Patil, were acquitted.

A 65-year-old accused was convicted and awarded death penalty for rape and murder of a minor. The case gained attention for the speed of investigation and trial. Police collected evidence from multiple sources and coordinated with forensic experts. A comprehensive chargesheet of 1,200 pages was filed on May 16.

A Madhya Pradesh judge convicted 14 persons of rioting, attempted murder, and murder in connection with a mob lynching case involving cow vigilantes. Following the conviction and life sentences, the judge received death threats and communal remarks on social media, prompting the registration of an FIR against the threateners.
