State vs. Shwetha and Kenneth — Bengaluru triple murder case

Actor Darshan and multiple co-accused are charged in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy. Darshan was arrested on June 11, 2024. The Karnataka High Court granted bail to Darshan and co-accused on December 13, 2024, which the State of Karnataka appealed to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court reserved judgment on the State's appeal on July 24, 2025.

A 29-year-old history-sheeter named Raja alias Halmuk Raja was attacked and hacked to death by a group of unidentified assailants near IG Circle on JP Nagar Road in Bengaluru on a Sunday evening. CCTV footage captured multiple attackers chasing him and assaulting him with machetes. Police suspect the killing to be linked to gang rivalries or a revenge killing.

A 24–26-year-old physiotherapist named Sai Surabhi was found dead in a locked room at a homestay near Nandi Hills in Chikkaballapur district, Karnataka on Monday. Her boyfriend, Sanjeeth Ali, a cab driver from Kerala, was found unconscious beside her. Police have registered a murder case and are investigating whether he murdered her and attempted suicide, or whether they entered a suicide pact.

A 23-year-old woman named Anjali was allegedly stabbed to death by her boyfriend Rajeev in Bengaluru on a Sunday evening. The incident occurred in the Mahalakshmi Layout Police Station area following an argument over marriage. Rajeev was arrested soon after the incident.

Multiple rape and murder cases in Dharmasthala, Karnataka, spanning from 1986 onwards, have come to light following allegations by a former sanitation worker that he was coerced into burying victims' bodies over two decades. The most documented case involves 17-year-old Soujanya (also spelled Sowjanya), whose 2012 rape and murder remains unsolved. A Karnataka High Court has issued notice on a petition seeking fresh investigation, and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to probe the allegations of mass burials and secret graves.

A 40-year-old woman identified as Krishna Barman, a house help from West Bengal, was found dead at her rented house in Muniyappa Layout under Bommanahalli Police Station limits in Bengaluru. Investigators suspect she was strangled by someone known to her. Police recovered a rope, tablets, and alcohol bottles from the room and are awaiting forensic and postmortem reports.
