The CBI registered a cheating case against Reliance Capital Ltd, its ex-chairman Anil Ambani, and unknown public servants over an alleged Rs 1,816 crore loss to the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). The agency alleges that EPFO invested in RCL's secured non-convertible debentures on which the company subsequently defaulted on repayment, with allegations of fraudulent transactions and diversion of funds.

Eight persons were arrested on allegations of embezzlement of donations received at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The case involves accused persons including Ramashankar Yadav, Anukalp Mishra, Avinash Shukla, and others. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted to probe the matter, and the investigation has expanded to examine alleged bribes for appointments at the temple establishment.
