State vs J. Manikandan — Neelankarai hit-and-run death

J. Manikandan, a restaurant owner, was arrested following a hit-and-run incident on the East Coast Road (ECR) in Neelankarai, Chennai, that resulted in the death of a 62-year-old housekeeping staffer, Krishnaveni. The victim was struck by the accused's car while crossing the road on the night of October 24, 2026. The Adyar Traffic Investigation Wing has registered a case against the accused.

Investigation into the murder of BSP leader K. Armstrong

BSP leader K. Armstrong was murdered by a gang in Perambur on 5 July 2024. Following a 24 September 2025 Madras High Court order and the state government's withdrawal of its Supreme Court appeal on 15 July 2026, the investigation into the murder was transferred to the CBI.
