State vs Building Owners — Lucknow Coaching Centre Fire Investigation

A five-storey residential building housing college students collapsed on September 6, 2026, in Satya Niketan, South West Delhi, resulting in multiple deaths and injuries. An FIR has been registered against the alleged building owner. Rescue operations recovered multiple survivors and fatalities from the debris.

On May 19, 2024, a minor allegedly driving a Porsche car crashed into a motorcycle in Kalyaninagar, Pune, killing two IT engineers (Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta). The case involves accusations that the minor was under the influence of alcohol. A separate investigation was launched after allegations that the minor's father and others tampered with blood samples to conceal evidence.

A civil motor accident claim arose following a collision involving a KSRTC bus driver and a car. The KSRTC bus driver was acquitted in criminal proceedings, but the Karnataka High Court had attributed 50% contributory negligence to the deceased car driver. The Supreme Court set aside the High Court's order, holding that a criminal acquittal cannot control civil MACT claims and the standards of proof differ between criminal and civil law.
