Nasrapur minor rape and murder case — 65-year-old convicted and sentenced to death

A chargesheet was filed against several accused under various sections of the BNS, POCSO Act, Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, Juvenile Justice Act, and SC/ST Prevention Act in connection with a case involving a minor victim at a brothel. The Karnataka High Court granted bail to a brothel customer accused, noting that he could not be expected to know the age and caste of the victim.

An FIR was registered against an Army commanding officer and approximately 40 soldiers for allegedly assaulting police personnel and other government officials at Kishtwar police station in Jammu & Kashmir. The accused are alleged to have caused injuries to multiple police personnel and the ARTO, vandalized official vehicles, damaged the police station gate, and caused damage to government property.

A 26-year-old woman alleged that two police constables raped her during a night patrol near Tiruvannamalai in September 2025. The woman approached the Madras High Court seeking expeditious progress in her trial. The high court issued directions to speed up rape and POCSO trials in response.
