Inspector Srinivas vs SP Karibasanagowda and others — DCRE caste discrimination complaint

An IAS officer in Jammu and Kashmir, Kumar Rajeev Ranjan, is facing controversy following allegations that he used abusive language toward and threatened a woman JKAS official. The Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) fraternity has formally sought an official investigation into the incident, which reportedly surfaced via a video recording.

A 19-year-old Dalit woman was allegedly gang-raped and murdered in Hathras district, Uttar Pradesh in September 2020. The CBI filed a chargesheet in December 2020 against four accused persons. In March 2023, an SC/ST court acquitted three of the four accused; one was convicted of culpable homicide, and gang-rape charges were dropped against all accused.

An FIR was registered against Andhra Pradesh IAS officer Vikas Marmat and four others following an alleged incident at a bar and restaurant on Residency Road in Bengaluru. The accused are alleged to have obstructed, threatened, and used abusive language towards Central Crime Branch police personnel during a routine inspection.
