National Investigation Agency vs Harpreet Singh alias Happy Passia and others — Qila Lal Singh police station RPG attack case

The National Investigation Agency has filed a chargesheet against 11 individuals in connection with an April 2025 RPG attack on the Qila Lal Singh police station. The agency has initiated proclamation proceedings under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita against fugitive accused, including Harpreet Singh alias Happy Passia, as reported on 21 October 2026. Security agencies have arrested 253 operatives across 14 states as part of a crackdown on an ISI-backed terror network allegedly managed by absconding suspect Shahzad Bhatti and Pakistan-based handler Sohail Ahmad to execute an Independence Day attack plot. Investigations have led to the recovery of IEDs, grenades, and RDX, with the NIA filing chargesheets against the network members. As reported on 29 October 2026, Kulwant Ali was arrested in Faridabad, Haryana, for his alleged role in the network and the Jalalabad grenade attack conspiracy.
