Disappearance of 7-year-old girl in Alampoondi, Gingee

Engineering graduate Kavin Selvaganesh was murdered in July 2025 at KTC Nagar in Tirunelveli, allegedly due to inter-caste relationship motives. The investigation involves multiple accused, including the prime suspect Surjith and various individuals accused of conspiracy or harbouring the offenders, among whom are police personnel.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Harish Kumar Tanwar, an investigating officer with the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) in Chennai, along with two other individuals. The arrests are in connection with an alleged bribery case linked to the ongoing DHFL scam investigation.

An inmate named Sabari Varman died inside Nagercoil Sub Jail in Tamil Nadu. Eight prison inmates were arrested in connection with his death following investigation of warders and other inquiries. Family members alleged torture, though a police official denied the allegations and stated evidence showed the deceased was in good health when he left the police station.
