Six individuals have been arrested in Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh, in connection with the poaching of a leopard. Authorities allege the animal was killed using an electric current, after which its paws were severed and its skin was flayed.
The Supreme Court directed Wildlife SOS CEO Kartick Satyanarayan to assist Madhya Pradesh forest authorities in an investigation into a leopard poaching and smuggling case. Following this directive, Satyanarayan appeared before the forest authorities on 28 September 2026 to cooperate with the probe. Wildlife SOS has previously denied allegations linking their anti-poaching intelligence work to illegal activities in this matter.
