In re: Helicopter crash near Joshimath

On 30 October 2026, a Trans Bharat Aviation helicopter crashed near Hathi Parvat in Chamoli, killing the pilot and five passengers from Karnataka. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau is investigating the crash, including the circumstances of the flight's takeoff during a weather alert. As of 2 November 2026, the mortal remains of the victims have been returned to their native regions, and the operator's entire fleet has been grounded pending further safety mandates.
