Maharashtra FDA vs Patanjali — Food safety inspection and seizure

The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) conducted a raid on a Patanjali distributor, seizing 2,280 kg of ghee valued at over 20 lakh rupees due to suspected food safety violations. The authority has indicated that further legal action against the manufacturer and distributor is pending the receipt of laboratory reports.

State vs. 3 accused — Sriganganagar fake ghee seizure case

Police and health department officials in Sriganganagar, Rajasthan, seized approximately 22,000 liters of suspected adulterated ghee worth 1.60 crore rupees from two firms as reported on 1 November 2026. Authorities also recovered expired stock, packaging materials, and a packing machine from the site. Three accused were arrested in connection with the operation as reported on 1 November 2026, and the matter is under investigation.

State of Andhra Pradesh vs CBI Director — Tirupati laddu adulteration probe

The Supreme Court has stayed an Andhra Pradesh High Court order concerning the CBI Director's appointment of an officer to investigate the Tirupati laddu ghee adulteration case. Separately, as reported on 10 September 2026, the Andhra Pradesh Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested TTD official Mendu Lokanadham for alleged disproportionate assets, and the Enforcement Directorate has initiated a probe into his finances.
