State vs multiple accused — Rs 504-crore Haryana fund siphoning and bank fraud case

CBI filed its first chargesheet in an alleged Rs 75.34-crore CREST fund diversion case in Chandigarh, naming 13 accused including IDFC First Bank officials and CREST staff. Further investigation is underway with additional chargesheets likely to follow.

The CBI arrested Haryana IAS officer Pradeep Kumar in connection with an alleged Rs 504 crore fraud at IDFC First Bank's Chandigarh branch. The investigation revealed that public funds belonging to eight Haryana government departments were allegedly siphoned off through forged or non-existent fixed deposits and fraudulent transactions routed to shell entities. Former bank officers were also accused of facilitating the opening of accounts and fraudulent transactions.

CBI arrested IAS officer Pankaj Agarwal in connection with an alleged Rs 657-crore fraud involving IDFC First Bank. Chargesheets have been filed against five bankers, one CSCL official, and one private individual. The case involves suspected financial misconduct at multiple levels.

The CBI conducted coordinated searches at 80 locations across 16 states and Union Territories as part of a crackdown on cybercriminal networks involved in digital arrest scams. Two arrests were made during the operation. The investigation targets organized fraud schemes that have victimized hundreds of people across India.

Eight persons were arrested on allegations of embezzlement of donations received at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The case involves accused persons including Ramashankar Yadav, Anukalp Mishra, Avinash Shukla, and others. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted to probe the matter, and the investigation has expanded to examine alleged bribes for appointments at the temple establishment.

An IPS officer was arrested in connection with a fake drug bribery scheme involving Rs 3 crore. The officer allegedly sought money to 'fix' a CBI case related to a counterfeit medicine racket. Several politicians were also found to be involved in the investigation.
